About Trust Advice

Celebrating over 30 years
of charity support

We're a specialist team rooted in the charity sector — not just serving it, but part of it.

A little background

Trust Advice grew out of Independent Examiners, which started over 25 years ago under the watchful eye of its founder, Daryl Martin. He is well known around the charity sector and has built on 30 years in the banking sector by serving another 25 years in the charity world. Daryl's relational style has always remained at the heart of the organisation.

In 2010, after years of building his network of trusted friends and clients, Daryl set up Advice For the Voluntary Sector, which later became Trust Advice — a client-led, support and advice organisation providing ongoing charity advice and training. This new venture grew and brought together a diverse range of staff and partners capable of handling all manner of charity matters.

The organisations made a transition in March 2020 as Daryl began to slow his usual relentless pace. With the new ownership of his daughter and son-in-law, Trust Advice and Independent Examiners emerged stronger and more resilient than ever, from the complexities of that season. As the world moved into some very unknown territory we found ourselves supporting charities in new ways, making new relationships and helping the sector navigate to calmer waters.

Today

It is so good to see so many of our original clients still with us since those early days. Originally the business was focused on independent examinations for charities — that's where it all started. Independent Examiners Ltd is still going strong and over the years has looked after the accounting needs of thousands of charities. Today there's a great team of specialists providing the UK's leading Independent Examination service. Do check out their website: www.iel.org.uk

At Trust Advice we are solely focused on supporting charities and especially their trustees, to find ways to make a difference in the communities they serve.

Values

We are guided by the principles of integrity, compassion and justice. Our work is shaped by a desire to act honestly in all we do, serving our client community with purpose and care. Rooted in biblical values, we strive to serve with excellence while reflecting Jesus Christ through our work and relationships.

We are very transparent and are always happy to talk with old and new clients, so do drop us a line or give us a call if you would like to know anything more about our unique business.
